In the year of 1811 AD under British rule Delhi announced as capital of India. Delhi has a strong place in Indian history. Delhi was ruled from Pandavas epic Mahabharata to British Government.

The history of Indraprastha a part of Delhi was capital of Pandavas in Indian epic Mahabharata. After Pandavas , Tomara ruler’s Anang Pal founded the city of Lal Kot in 736 AD. LAl Kot renamed Qila Rai Pithora by the Chouhans in 1180. The Afgani attacker Muhammad Ghori was defeated Prithviraj Chouhan in 1192.

The first ruler of the Slave Dynasty, Qutb-ud-din Aybak recognized as Sultanate of Delhi in 1206. After Slave Dynasty, Delhi ruled by the Khilji dynasty, the Tughluq dynasty, the Sayyid dynasty and the Lodhi dynasty in the Sultanate era. The last Lodhi’s Sultanate was defeted by Zahiruddin Babur in 1526 and founded the Mugal Empire that ruled from Delhi. Third emperors of the Mugal Empire The Badshah Akabar shifted his capital from Delhi to Agra. Delhi became Mugal unending seat only after Shah Jahan built Shahjahanabad the seventh city of Delh in 1638. Now days Shahjahanabad known as Old Delhi.

From Hindu Kings to Muslim, the wheel of the city kept changing from one monarch to another. The soils of the city aroma of blood, sacrifices and love for the nation. The old forts and edifices from the past stand soundless but their stillness also speaks volumes for their owners and natives who lived at this time century’s back.

British ruled Delhi from 1803 AD and they shifted their capital from Calcutta to Delhi in 1911 AD. New Delhi developed by British government. From Pandavs to British, Delhi have evidence of battle, love and development.

After freedom on 15th Aug in 1947, New Delhi was legitimately acknowledged as the Capital of India.

Delhi have many places for tourism By above ruler develop the modern structure of Delhi i.e. Qutub Minar, Quwwat-al-Islam, Lal Qila, Puran Qila, Tugalakabad Fort, India Gate and many Temples i.e. Lotus Temple, Chhattarpur Temple, Ankhardham etc.
